William B. Horn was born on the 20 December 1822 in North Carolina.  He came to Texas and married Rebecca J. Fitzgerald in San Augustine, Texas on the 16 August 1844.  They lived on his land grant of 320 acres which he received in 1842.  William traded his mother, Eunicy J. Horn, this 320 acres for 320 acres of her part of a division of the Henry H. Horn grant in Navarro County.  He then moved his family to Navarro County about 1857.  William also served in the Civil War as a private.  This company was believed to be a Home Guard Company.

William and Rebecca had ten children.  Amanda Margaret, J. Hardy, Martha, Catherine, H. Jackson, Sarah, Charity Ann, Mary Nash, Ransom C. and Francis.

William died on the 22 May 1889 and Rebecca died on the 1 March 1884.  They are buried on old McGowan property north of Kerens, Texas, now owned by Summeral and Beacham.  The stones were repaired and moved to a Bazette Cemetery in 1982.
