Born about 1811 in Louisiana
Died April 1875 in Texas

Thriza Morgan was born about 1811 in Louisiana.  She and James Chessher were married about 1827.  James and she lived in Pine Island Bayou where the Jefferson and Hardin counties meet.  In 1849, James bought a ferry over Pine Island Bayou.  He bought land on either side of the ferry.  Thriza had 9 children.  In the early 1860’s, James went to live on the Hardin County side in the Fletcher community and Thriza lived on the Jefferson County side in the Concord community until James’ death in 1873.  He deeded her the land in the Concord community.  She received James’ pension from the Republic of Texas war after his death.  She deeded her land to her granddaughter, Carey Alice Frazier, who lived with her until her death in April of 1875.
