MILENA A. PALMER
Born 1812 in South Carolina
Died 18 Sep 1852 in Cherokee County, Texas

Milena Palmer was born in 1812 in South Carolina to Soloman and Elizabeth Henderson Palmer.  In 1819, the Palmers moved to Blount County, Alabama.  Milena had six brothers and three sisters.  (Her parents and some siblings are buried in the Remlap Cemetery on Highway 75 in Blount County, Alabama.)

Milena married William S. Box in Blount County, Alabama on December 18, 1831.

In 1835, William and his father and brothers received land grants in what is now Cherokee and Houston counties in Texas.
A fort was built to protect the Box families.  William’s land was seven miles from the fort, so he and Milena did not venture to move until 1839 to their land.

Milena and William’s children were: Sarah Elizabeth, John Henderson, Margaret E., William H., Solomon Franklin, Annie Ball, and Sam Palmer.

In Cherokee County on September 18, 1852, Milena died.
